The woman, who is opposed to a campaign to ban pit bulls as pets, can be heard describing black men as being worse than dogs.

She also insults black women.

The voice recording went viral on social media after it was posted on the Sizwe Kupelo Foundation Facebook page.

The foundation is one of the organisations calling for the pit bulls to be banned following a spate of attacks on children.

EFF Gauteng’s Dumisani Baleni says the party will open a case against the woman believed to be behind the recording and everyone from the WhatsApp group where the original voice note was shared.

The case will be opened at the Benoni Police Station.

“The EFF in Gauteng can never stand by and watch another incident like this be swept under the rug. Racism must have harsh legal consequences,” he says.

He added “The officials of the EFF in Gauteng will once again take a stand against these racists. We will open a case for hate speech, and the incitement to commit public violence.”

On Friday, Gauteng’s Premier, Panyaza Lesufi also opened a case against the women and said he was hopeful the police would affect an arrest soon.

The South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) has also condemned the recording as deplorable.
