Gautrain: Rosebank, Park Station services restored
Updated | By Lebohang Ndashe
Gautrain confirmed on Monday morning that its services at Rosebank and Park Station have returned to normal.
The restoration comes after a week of repairs following unauthorised drilling by a private property owner at Hillside Village in Killarney, located above the train tunnel.
It’s understood that soil and water seeped into the transport system from the borehole, disrupting the operating systems.
Gautrain’s engineers have patched up the issue, filled the hole, and declared the tunnel safe.

“We wish to use this opportunity to thank our customers for their patience and understanding during this time and to thank our technical teams for the hard work that they have done to ensure that repair work could be done as speedily as possible,” said Gautrain spokesperson Kesagee Nayager.
Gautrain CEO Tshepo Kgobe has stated that they are preparing to take legal action against the property owner responsible for the drilling, as they violated the Gauteng Transport Infrastructure Act, which regulates construction near transport infrastructure.
