Giyani crash claims 2 lives
Updated | By Nokukhanya N Mntambo
Two people died in the early hours of Sunday morning when two vehicle collided head on near the Nsami Dam outside Giyani.
It’s believed one of the vehicles veered onto oncoming traffic before the crash.
Limpopo Transport spokesperson Mike Maringa says reckless driving is the suspected cause of the crash.
“Both male drivers were certified dead on the scene. Three passengers sustained minor injuries and the fourth passenger was critical. They were all rushed to Nkhensai Hospital.”
This brings the tally of lives claimed on Limpopo roads to eight at the weekend.
“The MEC is also concerned about the number of fatal accidents that happen on weekends,” says Maringa.
“MEC Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya is making a plea to motorists to drive with caution.”
