Forty students have also been arrested at the UFS over the past week.

UFS SRC President Asive Dlanjwa believes the students were arrested unlawfully.

Student protests have disrupted academic activities on both the Bloemfontein and QwaQwa campuses over the past week.

Yesterday during his MTPBS, Gigaba briefly touched on issue of funding for free higher education.

He said the fees commission report had been delivered to the president, who is still applying his mind.
