Growing calls for Zuma to release fees report

Students from the University of Cape Town (UCT) and the University of the Free State (UFS) have called on President Jacob Zuma to release the fees commission report.
UCT students marched to Parliament yesterday during the tabling of the Mid Term Budget Policy Statement by Finance Minister Malusi Gigaba.

Two students were arrested after clashes broke out between police and students outside Parliament.
Police spokesperson Andre Traut says the students contravened the Gatherings Act.
"The students will be charged once they appear in the Cape Town Magistrates Court."

Forty students have also been arrested at the UFS over the past week.
UFS SRC President Asive Dlanjwa believes the students were arrested unlawfully.
Student protests have disrupted academic activities on both the Bloemfontein and QwaQwa campuses over the past week.
Yesterday during his MTPBS, Gigaba briefly touched on issue of funding for free higher education.
He said the fees commission report had been delivered to the president, who is still applying his mind.
