Gumede mum on outcome of ANC meeting
Updated | By Nokukhanya Mntambo
Embattled eThekwini mayor Zandile Gumede was seen leaving the African National Congress' (ANC) KwaZulu-Natal headquarters on Tuesday after she and other senior eThekwini officials were summoned by the party's provincial leadership to discuss their future.
Several reports emerged on Monday suggesting that Gumede had been axed.
Gumede declined giving comment on the outcomes of the meeting on her exit from the building but the organisation is expected to brief the media.

There was a heavy police presence in the area in anticipation of the backlash from Gumede's supporters.
Gumede was arrested in May in connection with what the Hawks believe was a dodgy multi-million Rand waste removal tender, dating back to 2016. She was released on R50,000 bail.
