Updated | By Sinethemba Madolo
The home and office of Nelson Mandela Bay mayor Mongameli Bobani were raided by the Hawks on Tuesday.
Hawks spokesperson Hangwani Mulaudzi says the raids formed part of an ongoing investigation of fraud and corruption in the metro.
"It's an ongoing operation, it's a search and seizure. There are several addresses that we're still going to visit today as well as tomorrow."
Hangwani says the Hawks cannot reveal any more details due to the sensitive nature of the investigations.

"For now we cannot give details of the people and the addresses that we will be visiting but once we are done I'm sure the investigating team will sit and assess the way forward.
"We want to make sure that this matter is finalised quickly and if there are people that need to be arrested it must be done as quickly as possible."
This is the second raid on Bobani in six months.
In October last year, the Hawks raided Bobani's office which led to the seizure of documents and computers.
