IDAC’s Oversight Office says Andrea Johnson complaints 'receiving attention'
The IDAC Oversight Judge has confirmed receiving formal complaints against anti-corruption boss Andrea Johnson, while stressing no findings have been made. Johnson also rejected claims linking IDAC to Gauteng syndicate investigations during testimony at the Madlanga Commission.
The Office of the Independent Directorate Against Corruption Oversight Judge says it has received formal complaints against the anti-corruption directorate boss, Andrea Johnson.
She is facing serious accusations, including that she leaked the contents of a criminal complaint directly to senior Crime Intelligence officer Feroz Khan, the very individual named in the complaint.
The IDAC's Oversight Office says the complaints against Johnson are receiving attention through established processes.
It emphasised that the receipt of a complaint does not constitute a finding of wrongdoing, nor should it be interpreted as evidence of misconduct.

Spokesperson Tiyisela Max Mpuzana says while the office does not ordinarily comment on complaints received, it has made an exception given the public interest in the matter.
“The office further places on record that there is no hard-and-fast rule regarding the protection or publication of the identity of persons against whom complaints have been lodged,” he added.
“Whether such information is disclosed or remains confidential depends on the particular circumstances of each case, including considerations of public interest, procedural fairness, legality, the rights and interests of affected parties, and the integrity of the IDAC Oversight Judge Office's processes.”
Testifying at the Madlanga Commission on Tuesday, Johnson also denied claims by KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi that the unit was involved in Gauteng syndicate investigations.
Johnson said IDAC played no role in investigations involving businessman Katiso "KT" Molefe.
She said the unit's involvement with Vusimuzi "Cat" Matlala was limited to a Section 27 SAPS referral into alleged tender corruption involving Medicare 24:
“ IDAC did get cyber search warrants for the cell phones and electronic devices of Matlala. These were presented to IDAC by Lieutenant Colonel Khumalo.
“The data was downloaded in his presence, and he left with the devices. The information was sought in relation to the tender matter.”
