INFOGRAPHIC: Path of the devastating Gauteng storm
Updated | By Laila Majiet & Sibahle Motha
It's over a week later and the devastation of the storm which swept through Gauteng is still being felt.
Heavy rain, golf-sized hailstones and strong winds wreaked havoc across large parts of the province.
The SA Weather Service's forecaster Bransby Bulo says the severe storm was as a result of a cut-off low over the Free State and the Eastern Cape.
He says the storm developed in Ventersdorp in the North West before moving through Gauteng.
Some of the most severe destruction has been seen in Krugersdorp - where a school has been forced to shut its doors as a result of the severe damage left by the storm.
At Laerskool Protearif the roof has been blown off, chairs and tables destroyed, windows shattered as well as books and other learning materials ruined.

Children in grade 0 and 1 are being schooled at a local church.
While children in grade 2 to 7 are being accommodated at two nearby schools.
Laerskool Protearif's principal, Donna Lourens says it was reported that a tornado hit the school.
The Jacaranda FM breakfast team will be broadcasting from Laerskool Protearif on Wednesday.
Good Morning Angels has come on board to try and assist the school in effecting repairs.
