Ipid investigating police officer for deaths of 3 people in KZN

The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (Ipid) is investigating a police officer who was arrested in connection with the deaths of three people in KwaZulu-Natal.
The three people were killed in Phuphuma in the Ngabayena area on Saturday morning.
"Ipid received a report that alleged that a police officer was involved in this incident,” says the police watchdog's spokesperson Ndileka Cola.
"The Ipid's investigators responded swiftly to the crime scene to conduct an investigation.”
The police officer was subsequently arrested.
"Ipid is gathering more valuable information relating to this incident through its investigation process,” Cola says.

It's alleged that police were attending to a domestic matter at the man's home when the incident unfolded. The police watchdog's spokesperson Ndileka Cola says the man was armed with a knife. "The preliminary investigation indicates that the deceased was fighting his family, the family members called the police officers, as alleged the police officers arrived at the scene and there was minimal cooperation from the deceased."
