Updated | By Nokukhanya N Mntambo
The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (Ipid) is investigating the death of a Tembisa man who was shot by law enforcement on Monday.

It’s alleged that police were attending to a domestic matter at the man’s home when the incident unfolded.
The police watchdog’s spokesperson Ndileka Cola says the man was armed with a knife.
“The preliminary investigation indicates that the deceased was fighting his family, the family members called the police officers, as alleged the police officers arrived at the scene and there was minimal cooperation from the deceased.”
The man then allegedly charged at the responding officers when they arrived at his home.
“It is alleged that additional police officers joined the scene, the deceased allegedly charged towards the police with a retractable knife and the police fired shot,” Cola adds.
