Ipid probing another suspect’s death in KZN

The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (Ipid) is investigating the death of a man in KwaCeza, in the north of KwaZulu Natal.

The man was killed, allegedly by police officers, in the Mantungweni area on Sunday.
Ipid spokesperson Ndileka Cola says the man was shot and killed at his home.
"It is alleged SAPS members went to his homestead to arrest him, as he opened the door, he fired shots at the police officials, as indicated they retaliated fatally wounding the suspect.”
A firearm and other weapons were found next to the body of the deceased.
In a separate incident, Ipid is also probing the deaths of three people who were killed in Phuphuma in KZN on Saturday morning.

The three people were killed in Phuphuma in the Ngabayena area on Saturday morning. "Ipid received a report that alleged that a police officer was involved in this incident," says the police watchdog's spokesperson Ndileka Cola. "The Ipid's investigators responded swiftly to the crime scene to conduct an investigation."
