Jacob Zuma Foundation slams NPA ‘unreadiness’
The Jacob Zuma Foundation has slammed the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) for the latest delay in the fraud and corruption trial against the former president.
Former president Zuma was set to appear in the Pietermaritzburg High Court on Tuesday.
The case is expected to be postponed due to a court challenge by Zuma’s co-accused, French arms company Thales, to have the racketeering charges against it set aside.

But in a statement, the foundation accused the NPA of not being ready to proceed with the trial.
“For too long the NPA together with the media accused President Zuma of applying delaying tactics. Yet it is the NPA that is not ready to proceed when President Zuma calls upon it to present its case against him.
"The silence of the media in this regard is deafening. Not once is the NPA accused of the so-called Stalingrad, when after almost two decades of media fanfare that the NPA was ready, it is clear that the NPA is one that is not ready.”
