The author of 'The President's Keepers' says he will not back down amid attempts by the State Security Agency to gag him.
Author and veteran journalist Jacques Pauw says the contents of his book has clearly struck a nerve, because it exposes those in power.
Pauw spoke to Jacaranda FM News after news broke that the State Security Agency (SSA) had laid a criminal charge against him.
He says he is not scared of the SSA.
SSA spokesperson Brian Dube confirmed a criminal charge had been laid against Pauw for contravening the Intelligence Services Act.
The explosive book has caused much controversy since its release.
'The President's Keepers' details the alleged tax evasion of President Jacob Zuma.
On Thursday, the SSA made a second attempt to gag the author.
A second cease and desist order was issued to the editor of the book, Russel Martin.
Pauw announced during the official launch of his book that the SSA's cease and desist letter gave him two days to withdraw the book or he could face being taken to court.
