Jaguar E-PACE vehicles recalled over passenger airbag issue
Updated | By Mmangaliso Khumalo
The National Consumer Commission (NCC) says Jaguar has recalled some of its E-PACE vehicles.
Jaguar Land Rover Limited informed the NCC that the company is recalling the 2021 to 2024 Jaguar E-PACE models due to a possible fault with the passenger airbag.
"According to the supplier, the airbag may tear during deployment due to improper folding during the assembly process," said NCC spokesperson Phetho Ntaba.
"A torn airbag may reduce occupant protection and increase the risk of injury in a crash. Additionally, a torn airbag could allow hot gases to escape, potentially causing burns to occupants."
The NCC has urged affected consumers to immediately contact the nearest authorised dealership of these motor vehicles to have the module and associated components replaced at no charge.
