Nzimande made the remarks at the communist party's national congress in Benoni on Thursday.

On Thursday the High Court in Pretoria ruled that Walus will have to wait another 60 days for a decision to grant him parole.

Handing down the judgment, Judge Jody Kollapen reviewed and set aside former justice minister Michael Masutha's refusal to grant Walus parole in January 2019.

Kollapen found that the psychologist and experts were mostly in agreement that Walus has shown remorse for the assassination of Hani.

Hani was assassinated outside his home in Dawn Park, Boksburg in 1993.

Nzimande said Walus must remain behind bars until he tells the full story of Hani’s assassination.

"If we are to be honest, the 60 days is the key sight of struggle now, it means as the communist party we need to reaffirm our position that Janusz Walus must rot in jail. The SACP will have to continue to make its representations opposing the parole.”
