A man believed to be in his 30s was shot dead on the M1 near the Glenhove off-ramp on Wednesday afternoon and his body was found with 8 bullet wounds.

Provincial police spokesperson Mavela Masondo says they are treating this incident as a hit.

"The information that we got is that it was two suspects who were driving a white Hyundai Elantra, apparently they parked their car on the other side of the road, they then jumped over and shot at the victims."

Hours later, members of the community alerted police to a body next to the M2 highway near the Denver off-ramp.

"When we arrived there, there was a body and the person was shot in the upper body, but he was already late."

Police have launched a manhunt and are investigating cases of murder.
