JOC centre set up following violent riots in Nelson Mandela Bay Metro

Nelson Mandela Bay police have their hands full on Tuesday morning with service delivery protests reported in several parts of the city.
Police spokesperson, Captain Andre’ Beetge, says two trucks were torched on the Addo Road early in the morning.
He says one appears to have been a petrol tanker.
A photograph was also shared with Algoa FM News showing two busses burnt out on the R334 in Motherwell.

On Monday, a beer truck was set alight and looted on the R75 before it completely burnt out causing damaged of an estimated R1.4 million.
Police have now established a Joint Operation Centre to address the protests.
Police are monitoring the roads and have asked motorists to be vigilant and cautious.
