Justice will prevail for Facebook rapist Thabo Bester's victims, says Lamola

Justice and Correctional Services Minister Ronald Lamola says justice will prevail for the victims of Facebook rapist Thabo Bester.
The minister's remarks come amid an investigation by Ground Up, which claims he may have not died in a fire that engulfed his prison cell at the Mangaung Correctional Facility.
Ground Up has seen official DNA records that the corpse found in his prison cell in May 2022 does not match that of Bester.
Speaking outside the Law Society's annual conference, Lamola said that investigations into Bester's possible escape from the Mangaung Correctional Facility in the Free State are ongoing.

Lamola added that he believes justice will prevail for his victims.
"Justice will prevail whatever the circumstances or whatever has happened we will ensure that the law takes its course."
Bester was convicted of murder and rape after it found that he lured women through Facebook, promising them successful modelling careers.
A year later he would also be convicted of raping and murdering his girlfriend Nomfundo Tyhulu in Cape Town.
