‘Killer cop’ Kutumela daughter’s case postponed

Flora Shokane was arrested in October after she was linked to at least six murder cases where her police officer mother is the alleged mastermind.
The 27-year-old appeared in Polokwane Magistrate’s Court for bail application on Wednesday.
She faces multiple charges, including, six counts of murder, money laundering, receiving proceeds from unlawful activities, twelve counts of fraud, and defeating the ends of justice.
It is alleged that her mother, Rachel Shokane fraudulently took out life and funeral insurance policies for multiple victims and has claimed a total of R10 million as the sole beneficiary.
Various service providers, including ABSA, Standard Bank, Capitec, Hollard, Assupol, Old Mutual, Onelife, and Clientele, made the payouts.
The proceeds were shared amongst the mother Rachel Kutumela her daughter Flora, and aunt Annah Shokane.
The national matter is postponed to 07 February 2025, for further investigations.
A provisional date for bail application has been set for 12-14 February 2025.
