Kroonstad community kills suspect in death of girl (9)
Community members in Kroonstad have attacked and killed the owner of a shack where the body of a missing 9-year-old girl was found.
Members of the Free State community allegedly took matters into their own hands when they discovered the body stashed away in a wardrobe of the man’s shack.
Bokamoso Mesi had been missing since the start of the month.
It’s understood the body was discovered by children playing nearby.
Police spokesperson Motantsi Makhele says police were then deployed to the Kroonstad community to ease tensions.
“They went to the shack and found it locked, forced entry and found the wardrobe where the smell was coming from and found the body of Bokamoso and then alerted the police.
“Whilst busy at the scene it is alleged that the owner of the shack appeared and was attacked by the community. The police tried to intervene but were also attacked.”

The suspect was arrested at the weekend when members of the community at Montshiwastad village in Mahikeng tipped off police. North West police spokesperson Sabata Mokgwabone says the 25-year old admitted to killing his mother. "During the search, indeed a human head was found inside the bag.
The suspect was later declared dead by emergency medical services.
Makhele adds no further arrests have been made.
