KZN man in court for gruesome murder of boy (3)

A KwaZulu-Natal man is due to appear in court on Monday after the mutilated body of a 3-year-old boy was found near Estcourt in KwaZulu-Natal.
The boy’s body was found on Friday after he went missing from his grandmother’s home the previous day.
Provincial police spokesperson Nqobile Gwala says the young boy was taken from grandmother’s place in Thembelihle near Estcourt by a man known to the family.

“On Friday, when the grandmother returned from work, she noticed that the child was not at home. The suspect was questioned about the whereabouts of the child but he became violent. That is when the family members decided to search for the missing child. The child was found in the bushes with a nail inserted into his skull and mutilated.
“The missing body parts were found inside the suspect’s house."
The 36-year-old man was subsequently arrested and is due to appear in the Estcourt Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
