KZN police comb scene of Mthwalume murders

KwaZulu-Natal police search-and-rescue members and the K-9 unit on Thursday returned to a sugarcane plantation where the body of a woman was found in Mthwalume on the south coast.
It was the fifth body found in the area this year and the second body to be found this week on the 380-hectare farm.
On Tuesday, the body of a woman believed to be in her 30 was discovered by a passerby.
Police returned to the area on Wednesday and found the body of a woman believed to be in her late twenties.
She had injuries to her neck and was half-naked.
Police say they cannot rule out the possibility that the murders could be linked to a serial killer.
"There is a team that has been formed with different detectives and pathologists, and they are investigating the first case where two bodies were found," says police spokesperson Thembeka Mbele.
