Gigaba, who is the wife of former cabinet minister Malusi Gigaba, is facing charges of crimen injuria and malicious damage to property.

Norma Gigaba’s lawyer Victor Nkwashu accompanied her to fetch the devices at the Brooklyn police station in Pretoria on Wednesday.

"The devices were handed back to her after we wrote a letter on Sunday evening to head of Hawks giving them until 5pm yesterday that they should back her devices, failing which we are going to approach the High Court,” Nkwashu said.

"The devices were ready to be collected yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon. However, we were unable to drive back to Pretoria.”

Nkwashu said the seizure of the device forms part of the Hawks investigation.

They allege that she sent a text message to a complainant which he found to be offensive.

"So they took her laptop, iPad and three phones to go and investigate that message,” Nkwashu added.
