Light plane crashes during training flight, killing one on board
One person was killed and another is in a critical condition after a light aircraft crashed in an open veld in Springs on the East Rand on Wednesday evening.
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) says the Cessna 172 crashed during a training flight.
The CAA’s Accident and Incident Investigation Division spokesperson, Kabelo Ledwaba, says the evidence collection phase has already begun.
Ledwaba adds "The evidence collection phase, which has already begun, will define the size and scope of the investigation as well as the anticipated timeframe for the completion of a final report."
