Limpopo crash claims 11 lives
Updated | By Martine van der Walt Ehlers
Eleven
people have been killed in a crash along the R37 outside Polokwane.
Limpopo MEC for community safety and transport, Dickson Masemola, says a seven-seater and a cash-in-transit vehicle were involved in the accident near Chuene Resort on Sunday morning.
"It's a very sad day for us as a province - we are really in pain and in mourning.”
Police were on the scene to investigate the exact cause of the accident.
"We should be able to get the details of the victims, after the police finalised their investigation with regard to exactly where they came from, what are their names and who are their relatives.
"The road is cordoned off and motorists are urged to use alternative routes,” says Masemola.
