Limpopo police arrest boyfriend of slain intern doctor

Police in Limpopo have arrested a 25-year-old man in connection with the murder of intern doctor Shongile Nkhwashu.
Nkhwashu's body was found in her locked room at Mankweng Hospital, east of Polokowane on Sunday evening.
Police made the gruesome discovery after hospital management raised the alarm.
Provincial spokesperson Motlafela Mojapelo says the suspect is believed to have been romantically involved with the victim.
"The police immediately commenced with investigations and the suspect, who is believed to be the deceased’s boyfriend, was traced and arrested in Giyani on Monday.”

The motive for Nkhwashu’s killing remains unclear.
"The suspect will appear in the Mankweng Magistrate’s Court tomorrow (Wednesday) on a charge of murder,” says Mojapelo.
“The motive and the manner in which she was killed are unknown at this stage but the unfolding police investigations should be able to make such a determination."
