LISTEN: ANC personnel to stay away until full salaries are paid
Updated | By Eva Chipa
A group of disgruntled employees of the ANC blames the
ruling party of violating the basic conditions of employment with a number of
staff not having received their full salaries for three months.
ANC staff representative Mvusi Mdala warns ANC leaders that this “looming calamity” could have far reaching implications for the movement.
“Indeed this is a gross violation of the basic conditions of employment, following our picket on the side lines of the national executive meeting on the 21st of November for the first time.
Mdala says the leadership of the ANC received a formal report over the issue of unpaid salaries as well as a plan for the party’s Treasure General’s office to settle all outstanding salaries.
“The plan was supposed to stop cash flow problems and provide certainty into future salaries.
“While some of the salaries have been paid, the promise of a full settlement has not been honored.”
The staff have resumed their action to stay away on Monday until all disputes relating to unpaid salaries are met.
“In fact, all indications are that Tuesday 25th January will mark 3 months of non-payment of salaries for hard working men and woman who have put their lives on hold, to ensure that ANC administration functioned in full steam.”
