President Cyril Ramaphosa's newly-appointed Cabinet is holding a Cabinet Legotla at the Sefako Makgatho Presidential Guesthouse over the next three days.

The meeting comes at a time that the governing African National Congress (ANC) is battling to clamp down on its dirty laundry being aired in the media.

It's been widely reported that the ANC is launching an investigation into its secretary general, Ace Magashule's alleged ties to the newly-formed African Transformation Movement (ATM) party.

At the same time, the party's Woman's League president, Bathabile Dlamini, resigned as a Member of Parliament (MP) with her widely-shared resignation letter slamming the party as not being ready for a female leader.

The party is also reportedly planning to disband it's Youth League's National Executive Council (NEC).

However, the party's national spokesperson, Pule Mabe, has not been available for comment on any of these issues as yet.

Political commentator, Theo Venter says .the ANC is experiencing a post-election clean-up and all eyes will be on Ramaphosa as he prepares for his next State of the Nation (SONA) address next week.

"I think everything boils down to the SONA next week," says Venter. "Everyone expects more action, more specific action, more direction in terms of corruption...which may then, again, do what we saw over the last week: get him in conflict with some factions in the ANC."
