[LISTEN]: Gavin Watson death - ‘The only option left is murder’
August 26 marked a year since the death of Gavin Watson, the former chief executive of controversial facilities management company African Global Operations (formerly Bosasa).
Watson was involved in a car crash at OR Tambo International, although the circumstances around his death was questioned from the day it was reported.
The incident happened a day before he was scheduled to appear before a South African Revenue Service (Sars) inquiry into his company's tax affairs.
He was also yet to be called to testify at the commission of inquiry into state capture following damning allegations by the his former COO, Angelo Agrizzi.

Gavin Watson’s nephew Jared says while the family believes it was his time to go, they still want answers on the circumstances of his death.
"It was the most bizarre circumstances occurring at a very unfortunate time. If it was a health issue that just happened to be at that moment in an area where there were no cameras.
"When he was to give evidence at the SARS inquiry the next day and was subject of much bait in the media at the time, so for that to be an accident I believe to be so remote. The only option we have left is that it was murder."
