Harmony Gold has announced that chief executive officer Graham Briggs is to step down.
The company said in a statement on Thursday that Briggs was retiring after a long and distinguished career in the South African mining industry, including 20 years at Harmony.
Harmony chairman Patrice Motsepe said the 62-year-old Briggs had agreed to continue in the position of chief executive, which he had held since 2008, until a suitable replacement was found.
