[LISTEN] NSPCA identifies two teens behind horrific dog-fighting video
Updated | By Sibahle Motha
The National Council of Societies for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (NSPCA) has fingered two teenagers whom they believe were responsible for a gruesome dog-fighting video.
The video, which is doing the rounds on social media, shows two large pit bulls attacking another dog which has been chained in a veld.
It is believed that the dog was stolen from the neighbour’s house.
The two teenagers are heard laughing while the dog is being attacked.
Spokesperson Keshvi Nair says the dog eventually died from its injuries.

“On the 9th of July, the NSPCA, together with the detectives from Aliwal North SAPS, raided both properties of the teenagers in the Joe Gqabi area. Both the pit bulls seen in the video were found chained and were removed by the NSPCA, along with another dog found on one of the properties.”
Although the teens are both minors, Nair says the NSPCA intends to lay criminal charges against both the boys as well as three other spectators.
“The NSPCA will relentlessly pursue justice for the dog which lost its life as well the two pit bulls that were subjected to being used for illegal dog-fighting purposes," adds Nair.
