[LISTEN] 'Potholes of death' in Gauteng to be fixed

Gauteng MEC for Infrastructure Development, Jacob Mamabolo launched an R40 million investment in road infrastructure in Emfuleni on Friday.
Gauteng MEC for Infrastructure Development, Jacob Mamabolo says potholes in Gauteng are to be addressed as a matter of urgency.
"We have what we call potholes of death in Emfuleni," says Mamabolo, explaining that potholes impact not only on the comfort of road users, but their safety.
"This issue of potholes is not just about improving the roads making it easier for people to travel, but it's also about saving the lives of our people," he said.

Mamabolo launched an R40 million investment in road infrastructure in Emfuleni on Friday and said the province is in the process of improving the road transport system throughout, including at key points like the Gillooly's interchange and on William Nicol Drive in Johannesburg.
"This is broadly part of a campaign to upgrade the road infrastructure network of our province to make it easier and safer for people and goods to move in the city region,” Mamabolo said.
