Teachers union Naptosa has welcomed the postponement of the May/June matric exams.
The Department of Basic Education (DBE) announced on Saturday morning that the Amended Senior Certificate (old matric) and National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations would be merged with year-end exams.
According to Naptosa's Executive Director, Basil Manuel they had expected the announcement and support it.
"These are your second chance matriculants, these are those who are trying to improve results, etcetera," explains Manuel.
