SA commemorates Human Rights Day

Thousands paid tribute to those who lost their lives during the Sharpeville massacre in Vereeniging.
Deputy President David Mabuza delivered the keynote address on Wednesday.

Human Rights Day marks the events of 21 March 1960 when at least 69 people were killed in what became known as the Sharpeville Massacre.
More than 100, mostly women and children, were injured when apartheid police opened fire at unarmed protesters, demonstrating against pass laws.
