Lobby group to 'claim back' Clifton beach
Updated | By Sibahle Motha
Lobby group, Black People's Crisis Committee will embark on protest action at Clifton's 4th Beach on Friday.

This is in attempt to 'claim back' the beach, after beachgoers were chased away after 20:00 on Sunday.
Reports have emerged that private security company Professional Protection Alternatives (PPA), chased away beachgoers at night.
Chumani Maxeke from the lobby group says the protest will begin at 18:00 on Friday.
"We thought that it is important to take a stand because these things have been happening for quite some time around Cape Town, our protest is really to claim our beaches"
"Our protest is in the form of claiming our land, claiming our oceans, claiming our space as black people everywhere we are. We will be there staging our protest and enjoying ourselves in a beach that is God given", he says.
