Madlanga Commission hearings set for 17 September
The Judicial Commission of Inquiry into Criminality, Political Interference and Corruption in the Criminal Justice System, known as the Madlanga Commission, announced that it will start hearings on the 17th of September.
This comes after logistical delays prevented the commission from commencing on the 1st of this month.

Commission spokesperson, Jeremy Michaels, said they were pleased that significant progress has been made by the appointed service providers to set up the various services in accordance with the Commission's requirements.
"The Commission notes the award of several contracts by the Department of Justice and Constitutional Development, including IT equipment and ICT infrastructure services," Michaels said.
"It is anticipated that all work in this regard will be finalised in time for the Commission's hearings to commence without any further delays."
The commission, led by Mbuyiseli Madlanga, was established by President Cyril Ramaphosa following serious allegations made by KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi in July.
