The entity says this is due to the growing water demand from customers amid the ongoing heatwave, which has put a strain on the reservoir.

Spokesperson David Magae said demand is outstripping supply.

"As a result, the reservoir levels have dropped drastically, and regrettably, some customers will experience low-pressured water and or no water supply intermittently.

"Consequently, water demand management has been implemented in order to sustain the current water supply and to prevent a collapse of the scheme."

Magae said they are engaging the City of Tshwane on alternate measures to relieve the current situation.

"This as the scheme also depends on the availability of sufficient augmentation supply in order to maintain satisfactory reservoir levels."
