Beleaguered North West Premier Supra
Mahumapelo says it was his stance against corruption that ultimately led to his
downfall.
Mahumapelo, who is facing a multitude of corruption allegations, says he has no qualms about turning to the courts to absolve his name.
This comes as the African National Congress in the province resolved on Wednesday to keep Mahumapelo in his position.
Mahumapelo says he detractors want him out of the way because of his refusal to tolerate corruption.
"Today I have taken a decision and the PEC (provincial executive committee) is supporting it. That I must take aggressive legal action."
The premier says he will take on so-called Revolutionary Council, and ANC group hell-bent on replacing the North West government.
"Because they break the law... they don't want the rule of law to unfold."
Mahumapelo says his detractors decided to embark on a massive campaign to discredit his name.
He believes the aim of the smear campaign was to topple him before he could initiate a probe into corruption in the province.
