Alliance (DA) leader Mmusi Maimane says the African National Congress (ANC)
only has 18 months left to govern.

Maimane took several swipes at the ANC during his address at the DA’s Gauteng congress on Saturday at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand.
The congress saw John Moodey re-elected provincial leader.
''The ANC knows that they can't avoid this DA party taking South Africa forward, that's why if I was them I'd be worried,” Maimane said.
The 1 300 delegates elected Mike Moriarty as Gauteng's chairperson, while his provincial deputy chairperson is Bongani Nkomo.
Maimane believes they “will bring about real change to all the people of Gauteng”.
He also touched on the situation in Zimbabwe, saying that even though that country once celebrated its independence from colonial rule, much is yet to be done.
While Maimane praised the efforts of Johannesburg mayor Herman Mashaba and his counterpart in Tshwane, Solly Msimanga, he reminded delegates that the party needs an additional 1.5 million votes to govern Gauteng.
