Maimane: DA 'working well' with coalition partners
Democratic Alliance (DA) leader Mmusi Maimane has denied that the relationship between his party and its various coalition partners is coming under strain.
This despite the controversy around the removal of United Democratic Front (UDM) councillor Mongameli Bobani in Nelson Mandela Bay (NMB).
Bobani, who has been accused of corruption, was removed through a motion of no confidence.
But the UDM is threatening legal action, saying the correct procedure was not followed.
Maimane was briefing the media at Johannesburg mayor Herman Mashaba's office on Tuesday.

He met with the mayors of four DA-led metros, Patricia de Lille, Solly Msimanga and Athol Trollip, to discuss ways to kick-start the country's economy.
Maimane says Bobani was removed with the help of the DA's coalition partners.
"We are working well with our coalition partners. Even when it comes to matters of voting, it became clear that even during the NMB vote of no confidence, Cope and ACDP voted with us," says Maimane.
He says the different coalition partners need to reflect on what has been achieved at the end of every financial year.
"Coalition management must also say to itself at the end of each financial year, does it exist to pass budgets or sit with an economic plan that can deliver for its people? ".
"We have 9 million citizens who are unemployed. We must deal with how we best deliver services for the people. Where budgets in municipalities passed? Yes, was the IDP processes in place and is there investment? Yes, and I believe it's through a great partnership between parties who are willing to work together. We can't have one person hold the country ransom," says Maimane.
