Makhura: No PPE tenders for wife, family

Makhura has refuted claims that his family is involved in the procurement
of personal protective equipment.
Makhura has dismissed the claims, which emerged on social media over the weekend, the members of his immediate family is doing business with the state.

His spokesperson Vuyo Mhaga says Makhura has made it clear that his family will never enter into business with the provincial government.
“The premier is made aware of the allegations and fake news on social media that his spouse is doing business with the state. The premier wants to place it on record that neither his wife nor family members are doing business with the state.”
Mhaga says a complaint has been laid with the police.
“He will request the assistance from the law enforcement agency and if there is any wrongdoing, the law enforcement will be able to respond accordingly.”
