The Gauteng Health Department has also raised its concerns over the inadequate vaccination of the elderly population.
The department had targeted 1.3 million pensioners above the ages of 60 but only 700 000 have been inoculated.
Furthermore, the 50 -59 age group is also not vaccinating, with only at least half a million having received their Covid-19 jabs.
