Man accused of killing Minister's son back in court

The man accused of stabbing to death the son of Defence and Military Veterans Minister Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula will make his second court appearance Wednesday at the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court.

Chumani Nqakula, 23, was fatally stabbed at the weekend in Bezuidenhout Valley, Johannesburg.


Murder accused , Carlos Higuera, 24, is expected to apply for bail.


On Monday, Higuera with a visible head wound made his first court appearance. He told the court that his injuries were caused by the deceased and another man. He was remanded in custody.


Ambassador Charles Nqakula and his wife Mapisa-Nqakula have announced that their son will laid rest on Saturday at the Westpark Cemetery.
