Updated | By ANA
A man died when he lost control of his car and it plunged off a bridge in Cato Ridge between Durban and Pietermaritzburg on Saturday night, KwaZulu-Natal paramedics said.

“It is understood that the vehicle went off a bridge and plunged several metres down before rolling several metres further and landing on train tracks close to Alice Goswell Road,” ER24 spokeswoman Chitra Bodasing-Harduth said.
Upon arrival, ER24 paramedics found the man partially ejected from the car which was on its roof.
“Upon assessment of the man believed to be in his 20s, it was found that he sustained multiple injuries. Sadly there was nothing that could be done for him and he was declared dead. Fire and rescue was on [the] scene to remove the man from the vehicle.”
The cause of the accident was unknown, she said.
