Man fatally shoots woman outside Pretoria nightclub

A 30-year-old man has been arrested after a fatal shooting outside a nightclub in Sunnyside, police say.
The suspect is alleged to have shot and killed the 26-year-old woman following an argument in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Sunnyside police spokesperson Daniel Mavimbela says the woman from Limpopo had been shot in the head.
He says the man was in the company of a friend and two other women.
"Reports suggest that shortly thereafter, the victim found her way into the vehicle, which led to an argument ensuing because the deceased was reportedly not welcomed by the other occupants of the vehicle."
Mavimbela says the suspect fled the scene, but quickly ran out of options.
"With the police hot on his trail - raid after raid being conducted at several places that were suspected to be his possible hideouts - the suspect had no option except to hand himself over at the Sunnyside police station," he explains.
The alleged murder weapon, a handgun with a filed off serial number, and ammunition were seized during the arrest.
The suspect will be charged with murder and possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
He is expected to appear in the Pretoria Magistrate's Court soon.
