Man implicated in Madlanga Commission takes his own life

Wiandre Pretorius, a police informant who was implicated in proceedings before the Madlanga Commission has taken his own life.
Police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe says the 41-year-old shot and killed himself at a filling station in Brakpan in Ekhurhuleni on the East Rand on Saturday night.
"All role players, including police detectives and forensic experts, attended to the crime scene", Mathe says.
On Thursday, Pretorius survived an attempt on his life outside his Boksburg home, where gunmen fired 16 bullets into his car.
During the Madlanga Commission, Witness D implied Pretorius was involved in the murder of a Brakpan suspect in April 2022.
