Man jumps to his death in Roodepoort
A man has died after he jumped off a bridge on Ontdekkers road in Roodepoort onto the N1 south.
Johannesburg Metro Police spokesperson Edna Mamonyane says an eyewitness saw the body on the road and managed to avoid it.
"It seems that the deceased was standing on the top of Ontdekkers and jumped on to the N1 south.
"Unfortunately the vehicle behind the eyewitness ran over the man as the driver could not see what was happening ahead," Mamonyane says.
She says authorities will examine the visuals from the cameras on the freeway and the docket handed to police for investigation.
