Man killed in Sandton shooting
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
A man has been shot and killed in an apparent robbery in Sandton.
The police’s Lungelo Dlamini says they believe the man, who was in his 40’s, was travelling on Bowling Avenue when he was attacked by four armed suspects.
“The man was apparently from a bank, at this stage we don’t know if any money was taken from his car as the suspects have fled. We are investigating the possibility that he was followed from the bank and we believe the motive was robbery.”
ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring says the man was found with multiple gunshot wounds.
“Paramedics found the man lying in the front seat of his vehicle with numerous gunshot wounds and showed no signs of life. It’s alleged when the gunmen opened fire on him, he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the pavement,” says Meiring.
