Limpopo police have charged Immanuel Maboko for the gruesome murder of a lecturer at the University of Limpopo.
Maboko is accused of killing well-known Professor Mohamed Saber Tayob.
The chartered accountant was shot while jogging in Sterpark in Polokwane about three months ago by suspects in a white vehicle.
The 33-year-old suspect is also facing charges of murder after an armed robbery at a BMW car dealership in Polokwane.
Maboko has abandoned his bail application in the above matter after he allegedly shot a teacher servicing his car at the dealership at point-blank.
Four days prior to this incident, Maboko allegedly shot and killed a man he owed money to.
Limpopo police spokesperson Motlafela Mojapelo confirmed the arrest on Thursday.
The motive behind the three incidents is being investigated but is said not to be linked.
Preliminary probes have revealed that Maboko is a university graduate that worked at a mine in Burgersfort but was later retrenched
