Man stabbed to death on Durban beach

Barely hours after the police’s top brass visited visited Durban’s beach front to launch their festive season safety plans a 27-year-old man was stabbed to death.
Major Thulani Zwane confirmed that the 27-year-old had apparently been stabbed by three men, who robbed him. It happened near the paddling pools at North Beach at about 3am.
“Durban Central police are investigating a case of murder and no arrest has been made at this stage.”
Zwane said the man was not a tourist.
On Wednesday KwaZulu-Natal provincial commissioner Lieutenant General Betty Ngobeni, Hawks boss Major General ?Berning Ntlemeza and the police’s deputy commissioner Lieutenant General Bonang Ngwenya visited the beach front to launch the police’s festive season safety plan.
At a press conference earlier, Ntlemeza had said criminals should be warned that the police would be out in full force.
